Americana

While on assignment in the United States back in 2016, I was struck by the overstimulating nature of American life. The size of the buildings, the width of the streets, the number of people and the amount of advertising was way too much for my brain to handle. I had come from a small village in West Wales and moved to London to continue my career, which despite being a metropolis was a world away from the hustle and bustle of American cities. There’s no such thing as a quiet street in the US, certainly not in New York, the city that never sleeps. These images attempt to encapsulate the inescapable nature of American capitalism and it’s quest for neverending growth.
